Rc Car Battery 7.2v
can batteries be placed in series and parallel at the same time?

i have an rc car that run on 7.2v 1800mah stock batteries, can i buy 12 rechargeable batteries 1.2v 2500mah, and place them 6 in parallel to make it 7.2v and 2 in series to make them 5000mah? would this damage my batteries or damage the Electronic Speed Controller ESC somehow? and would 5000mah means that i can play longer?

That should work fine, so long as all the batteries are charged and discharged at the same rate. You can stack up 6 1.2v batteries in series to make a 7v battery, no problem.

But if you put two of these in parallel to build up more mAh, if one of these stacks is much more charged than another the more charged one can run current backwards through the less charged one. But if they are both run in series from full charge you shouldn't have any trouble.
